BIND Reader Specification Sheets
BIND Reader >> SCREENER
The BIND® SCREENER is label-free, plate-based reader designed
for ultra-high throughput environments and provides quantitative
measurements of a variety of cellular and biochemical interactions.
The SCREENER is a small footprint, bench-top instrument capable
of reading 96-, 384-, 384LV- and 1536-well Biosensor plates. It is easily
integrated within a variety of automation platforms. Throughput can
be maximized using the TURBO read mode option which allows a
1536-well plate to be read in as little as 45 seconds.

BIND Reader >> PROFILER
The BIND® PROFILER is a small footprint, high throughput plate
reader for the label-free measurement of a variety of biomolecular
interactions. The PROFILER was designed with flexibility in mind to
enable researchers to seamlessly move from target discovery and assay
development to full screening and compound profiling. It is ideal for
GPCR and ion channel assays, including endogenous receptor systems
and assessment of primary cells, as well as for biochemical assays
such as protein:protein binding, fragment-based and small molecule
screening assays.

BIND Reader >> EXPLORER
The BIND® EXPLORER is a small footprint, plate-based reader for
quantitative, label-free measurements of a variety of biomolecular
interactions. BIND® enables maximum application flexibility ranging
from biochemical binding assays to complex cellular assays including
primary cell, GPCR, ion channel and cell adhesion assays. The
EXPLORER’s ability to collect kinetic data provides an additional layer
of information that is useful in determining binding characteristics,
mechanisms of action or even pathway usage upon GPCR activation.

BIND Reader >> Cartridge
The BIND® Cartridge Reader is a unique and cost-effective solution for
lower throughput, label-free assays with the sophistication of higher-end
instrumentation. It is a true bench top instrument with approximately
the same footprint as a microcentrifuge. This reader was engineered
from the ground up with application flexibility in mind and can be used
for both biochemical and cell-based assays. Assays are performed in 16-
well BIND® Biosensor Cartridges, an ideal format for assay development
or for profiling individual compounds. Because the Cartridge Reader
uses identical technology as SRU’s plate-based BIND® Readers, assays
developed in cartridge format can easily be migrated to the higher
throughput EXPLORER, PROFILER or SCREENER BIND Readers.

BIND Biosensors >> Biochemical Applications
BIND® from SRU Biosystems is a label-free, universal assay platform
for the detection of biomolecular interactions. The platform is
comprised of a BIND® Reader and associated BIND® Biosensor
plates. An independent, optical biosensor is incorporated into the
bottom of each well of the Biosensor plates. The biosensors provide
very sensitive measurements of changes in mass or binding in proximity
to the biosensor surface. A range of biosensor surface chemistries
has been developed for optimum results for a variety of biochemical
assays including protein-protein binding, small molecule binding,
protein-nucleic acid binding and enzyme assays.

BIND Biosensors >> Cellular Applications
BIND® from SRU Biosystems is a label-free, universal assay platform
for a wide range of cell-based applications. The platform is comprised
of a BIND® Reader and associated BIND® Biosensor plates. An
independent, optical biosensor is incorporated into the bottom of each
well of the Biosensor plates. BIND Biosensors are available with a
number of optimized surfaces for measuring biological responses
of both adherent and suspension cell types including primary cells.
Robust, reproducible responses are produced for both recombinant
and endogenous targets requiring as few as 1,000 cells per well in 1536-
well format. BIND assays are non-destructive, live cell assays that are
more physiologically relevant because they are label-free.
