BIND Biosensors
SRU scientists have developed a comprehensive line of BIND® Biosensors to match both application and throughput requirements. Proprietary surface coatings such as SRU’s CA2 cellular matrix coating are just one example of how our innovative, performance-guided scientists are dedicated to advancing label-free applications.

Biosensors with a range of densities (16- to 1536-wells) and surface coatings are available. General guidelines for selecting the appropriate BIND Biosensor are below. For more information about Biosensor selection, their use or custom coating of biosensors, please contact SRU scientists at support@srubiosystems.com.
Plate-Based Biosensors
Plate-based BIND Biosensors are provided with lids and are available in 96-, 384-, low volume 384- and 1536-well formats. Biosensor microplates have the following maximum volumes: 96-well (300 μl); 384-well (70 μl); low volume 384-well (28 μl); 1536-well (5 μl).

Biosensors for Cellular Applications

SRU’s proprietary CA2 surface promotes cell attachment and is recommended for use with both suspension and adherent cells for optimum assay performance. In addition, O2 plasma-treated bare TiO2 sensors can be self-coated and used for cellular applications. .

Biosensors for Biochemical Applications

SRU Biosystems offers a number of optimized surfaces for immobilization of drug targets. The BIND Biosensors commonly used for biochemical applications are bare TiO2 plates and aldehyde-coated plates. GA1 and GA3 biosensors are coated with pre-activated aldehyde surfaces, at a low and high densities respectively, to provide stable immobilization of targets via primary amine groups. GA1 plates are recommended for protein-protein interaction assays, while GA3 plates are recommended for small molecule binding assays. In addition, SRU offers streptavidin-coated plates for use with biotinylated assay components.

Cartridge-Based Biosensors
Cartridge Biosensors can be used for both cell-based and biochemical applications and are constructed with the same optical grating as the plate-based BIND Biosensors. Cartridges have a 100 μl maximum working volume.
