Cellular Assay Scheme
Cell-based assay protocols allow a high degree of customization to accommodate different cell types, specific tissue culture requirements, low cell number or volume and re-use of cells. The basic methods are depicted below and are comprised of 3 basic steps: cell plating and attachment, addition of test compound(s) and measurement of cell response using a BIND reader. Adherent, suspension and primary cells are compatible with BIND technology. In addition, BIND’s sensitivity enables the use of endogenous receptor systems and recombinant cell lines.

Biochemical Assay Scheme
Biochemical methods vary widely depending on the type of assay (enzyme assay, protein-protein, small molecule, antibody capture, etc.). Basic biochemical assay schemes are depicted below and involve 3 general steps: biosensor coating, test reagent addition and monitoring of binding using a BIND reader. This basic assay scheme can be customized for detecting multiple binding components, assessing mechanisms of action, identifying promiscuous or aggregate binders as well as determining binding stoichiometry. BIND biosensors can be coated with a variety of biomolecules including peptides, proteins, small molecules, nucleic acids, antibodies and enzymes.
